Title
Description
Google decides how much of a title and description to show, based on pixel width and the device. This preview is a close guide, not a guarantee. Rough limits used here: about 600px for the title, about 920px (desktop) or 680px (mobile) for the description.
Why pixel width matters
Google cuts titles and descriptions based on how wide they are on screen, not how many characters they have. Wide letters such as W and M use more space than narrow ones, so two titles with the same character count can be cut at different points.
How to use the checker
Type your title, URL and description, then switch between desktop and mobile. The bars show how close you are to the limit. If a bar turns red the text may be cut off, so put the main point at the start.
Google may rewrite your snippet
Google often shows a different title or description than the one you wrote, depending on the search. A clear, accurate meta description still gives you the best chance of being used.
FAQ
Aim to stay under about 600 pixels, which is often around 50 to 60 characters.
They are not a direct ranking factor, but a good one can improve how many people click your result.
