Free AI Paraphrasing Tool
One sentence, seven styles
The quickest way to see what each mode does is to feed it the same sentence. Take: We regret to inform you that your order has been delayed owing to unforeseen circumstances at our warehouse. Results change every run, so these show the character of each mode, not exact output.
- Standard: a balanced reword with the same meaning.
- Fluent: smooths any awkward phrasing so it reads naturally.
- Formal: Please be advised that your order has been delayed due to unexpected issues at our warehouse.
- Simple: Sorry, your order is late because of an unexpected problem at our warehouse.
- Creative: freer, more expressive wording.
- Shorter: Your order is delayed because of a warehouse problem.
- Longer: adds fuller explanation around the same facts.
A good workflow: go in steps
Paraphrasing works best as a series of small moves, not one big one. Take a stiff paragraph from your own draft. First run it in Fluent, so the sentences stop tripping over themselves. Read the result aloud. If it is still wordy, use Use result as input and run Shorter. If the audience is not expert, run Simple last. Each pass is easy to check, and you keep control of the meaning.
Compare the final version with your original, line by line, and keep whatever sounds like you. The tool is a drafting partner, and the last edit should always be yours. If you want to see exactly what changed, paste both into the text diff checker.
When paraphrasing helps
It is at its best on your own writing: an email that sounds stiff, a paragraph that repeats itself, text for a different audience, or a long sentence that tries to say three things. It also helps non-native writers who know what they want to say but are not sure it sounds natural.
When it can hurt
Rewording someone else’s work without crediting them is still plagiarism, and schools and publishers treat it that way. Facts, names and numbers should come through unchanged, but always check them against the original before you rely on the result.
Do not use it to churn out web content
A word of caution for website owners. Taking existing articles, running them through a rewriter and publishing the results at scale is exactly the kind of low-effort content that search engines try to demote, and Google’s spam policies address content produced mainly to manipulate rankings. Use this tool to improve your own text, not to produce piles of near-copies of other people’s pages.
Three situations, before and after
These are illustrations of the kind of change to expect, not exact outputs.
A stiff email
Before: I am writing to enquire as to the status of the aforementioned invoice. After, Simple: I am writing to ask about the status of the invoice I sent.
A repetitive product line
Before: This bag is durable and strong and made to last for a long time. After, Shorter: This bag is built to last.
A dense paragraph for a general audience
Before: The implementation of the policy necessitates the reallocation of resources. After, Simple: To put the policy in place, money and staff have to be moved around.
Getting better results
- Paste complete paragraphs rather than single sentences, so the tool has context.
- Fix obvious errors first, with the AI grammar checker.
- Choose the mode for the job instead of rerolling the same one repeatedly.
- If the output sounds generic, run it through the AI text humanizer or edit it by hand.
A short checking routine
- Read the new version out loud. If you stumble, so will your readers.
- Compare every number, name and date with the original.
- Check that you have not lost a qualifier such as usually or may, which can change the claim.
- Make sure the tone fits the person who will read it.
- Edit the sentences that still do not sound like you.
How the AI works and your privacy
Your text is sent to Google’s Gemini model to create the rewrite, and this site does not save it. Each visitor gets a limited number of free uses per day, and each request has a maximum length. Do not paste passwords, ID numbers or other sensitive data.

If the text is your own and you are only polishing the wording, there is usually no need. If a school, employer or publisher has rules about AI assistance, follow them, and be open about it when asked. The responsibility for the final text is always yours.
